SKU: Little Island

Casson is known as one of Canada's greatest a painters of landscapes.
He was able to document many of our rural settings and buildings, as well as his great study of the Ontario landscape with all of the riches that are found in his interpretive paintings of sharply defined colour and shape and contrast.

Born in Toronto, A.J. Casson 1898-1992 became a member of the famed “Group of Seven” artists in 1926, replacing Frank Johnston, who had resigned, and was also a founding member of the Canadian Group of Painters.
His paintings hang in private, corporate and public collections across our land, including the National Gallery of Canada and the Art Gallery of Ontario.
